The NCWRC plans on stocking nearly 1000 trout in Bledsoe Creek this year.
Starting just a few miles
North of Sparta from springs on Fender Mountain, Bledsoe then flows road side for several miles
along Bledsoe Creek Road. At the junction of Bledsoe Creek Road and Highway 21 North Bledsoe
runs through the center of the Alleghany County Fair Grounds and continues along Highway 21 right
through Sparta and finally empties into Little River just above the Highway 21 Bridge on Sparta's
South side.
This creek is well
stocked with trout in the spring and summer and has many hold over trout from previous stockings.
